The Guelph Storm (14-8-0-1) doubled Sarnia 4-2 Sunday, handing the Sting (9-15-0-0) their seventh straight loss.
The Sting's Sandis Vilmanis scored the first goal of the game early in the first period. Carson Hall also scored early for Sarnia. Sting goalie Karsen Chartier stopped 15 of 18 shots.
Defenceman Jacob LeBlanc said it should have gone in their favour.
"I thought we had a really good game today," said LeBlanc. "I thought we outworked them for the majority of that game, our effort was there and I guess there was just a bit of a breakdown there at the end. It was pretty unfortunate because I thought we were the better team for the majority of that game. We got kind of unlucky there at the end.
Forward Andrew LeBlanc agrees with his brother.
"Well obviously it's been a bit of a rough patch lately but we outshot them today, we outworked them today and we got the first goal too," said LeBlanc. It was pretty unlucky. I think we outworked them and that one should have went our way."
Michael Buchinger, Jake Karabela, Braeden Bowman and Jett Luchanko all scored for Guelph in the win.
The Sting are off until Friday when they host the Brantford Bulldogs at Progressive Auto Sales Arena. On CHOK (103.9FM/1070AM) with the pre-game at 6:30 p.m.
Andrew LeBlanc said they'll use the time off to re-group.
"I think we got to just stick together cause obviously right now we're not getting those bounces," said LeBlanc. "We're working hard, everyone's trying their best, everyone wants to win, you know no one wants to lose seven games in a row. But, I think we're all just going to stick together, we're going to keep working and keep going and I think we're going to get some better outcomes in the near future."
