[audio wav="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/FIVE-QUESTIONS-WITH-BRIAN-MASSE-NDP-WW.wav"][/audio] --- Brian Masse is a five-term Windsor West MP who says he’s ready to keep fighting for hardworking families and the middle-class jobs they deserve.

In this last Parliament, Brian managed several Official Opposition critic assignments, including serving as critic for Small Business, Tourism, the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario and the Great Lakes and the Canada–US Border.

Masse says he has helped lead the fight for a new international border crossing and route in the Windsor–Detroit region—vital for the next generation of good jobs in our region. He’s also proud of his hard work to build public support and investment for our auto sector. His private member’s bill on “right to repair” resulted in an agreement that protects the automotive aftermarket’s rights to access technology and equipment while strengthening consumer choice.

First elected to the House of Commons in 2002, Brian is also the first New Democrat elected federally to represent Windsor West. He is married to Terry Chow, and together they are proud parents to Alexandria and Wade. --- Interesting riding facts:

  • Established in 1966, Windsor West was created using parts of the former Essex East and Essex West ridings
  • Liberal Herb Gray held the seat for 34 years, from 1968-2002
  • NDP Brian Masse has secured the riding since then
