He holds a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Computer Science and a Masters degree in Business Administration. His teaching specialization is in International Business and Technology.
For the 18 years before Fanshawe, Jim was the owner of Paradynamics Inc., a small software and consulting firm specializing in software solutions for the warehousing and supply chain sectors. In addition, Paradynamics developed software for hospital quality of service management, human resource management, and a wide range of smaller projects.
Prior to that, Jim worked with a number of different large and small organizations, including Labatt’s, Cableshare, and NCR. Raised in Oro-Medonte, north of Barrie, Jim has witnessed the challenges of preserving the culture of the family farm, and the ongoing difficulties faced by the farming community.
Jim has volunteered with many community organizations and boards, including the Child Poverty Action Group, Western Area Youth Services, London Dressage Association and various sport groups. An avid musician and composer, Jim has released two CDs of original music in the last 6 years, including Simple Joy – Believe in a Better World. Simple Joy received nominations for best folk/roots band and the CD received nominations for best CD at the Jack Richardson Music Awards in London. Jim holds a private pilot’s license, and is an amateur astronomer and certified Level 1 baseball coach. --- Interesting riding facts:
