Longshot Makes The Spits

LaSalle native Daniel Beaudoin is signing with the Windsor Spitfires after the 19-year-old impressed at training camp.

Beaudoin got the invite to the Spitfires camp after playing a key roll with the LaSalle Vipers in Junior B over the last two season recording 35 goals and 46 assists in 90 regular season games. He added another 16 goals and 16 assists in 29 playoff games last season.

Spitfires Vice President and General Manager Warren Rychel says Beaudoin was a standout at camp and deserves a shot in the OHL.

"This is a great story," says Rychel in a news release. "Daniel came into camp and impressed coach and management with his solid, straightforward approach to the game. He's a great addition and will be a character player for us."

The Spitfires also announced defenceman Kyle Auger is being optioned to the Vipers.

"He had an excellent camp," says Rychel. "Right now, with our club having a full roster of returning defencemen, he's better off developing in LaSalle, playing big minutes."

The Thunder Bay native was a second round pick of the Spits in April.
