The University of Windsor is thanking a former graduate today for his contribution to its new welcome centre.
The building will be known as the Stephen and Vicki Adams Welcome Centre, as the couple donated $2-million and 18 peices of art work to see the facility come to life.
Adams says he loves the open concept and round shape of the centre.
"You walk in the door and you just feel free," he explains. "I mean, you don't feel confined. Even the rooms, when you walk into a room, they're so open. You don't feel that it closes off any discussion or conversation."
Adams, who now lives in Calgary, graduated from the school with a Masters Degree in Political Science and left the city in 1973.
He's gone on to have success in oil and real estate, and says he always wanted to give back to the University of Windsor.
He credits his father Thomas Adams, his Uncle Jack Adams and Dr. Walter White for encouraging him to attend the school when he was younger.
