The city is now reviewing survey results about whether or not you want to see paid parking at municipal community centres. Manager of traffic operations Fahd Mikhael says the purpose is to help mitigate the cost of maintaining each parking lot. "From the people I've been talking to and things like that, it seems people prefer keeping the status quo," he says. Options on the survey were keeping things the same, pay and display parking or charging an extra fee for those renting the facility. Mikhael says he's gotten a few hundred responses online and from surveys placed inside city buildings. The questionnaire is now closed. Administration will present a report to council and they will make a final decision. Part of the reason for this survey was in response to councillor Chris Holt's question about paid parking at community centres.
