Celebrating Tigers Home Opener

Bus loads of baseball fans are headed to Detroit to partake in festivities for the Tigers home opener.

While some will be attending the game many are going to bars and restaurants or tailgating to celebrate the start of baseball season in Detroit.

"We just like the party. We enjoy going from bar to bar and seeing everybody just enjoying their selves and enjoying the Tigers," says Bill Carathanasis.

While the opening of baseball season marks the start of spring for some people the cold weather is not dampening the mood.

"It's the first year it's cold but it doesn't matter. We're Canadian, we're used to it, we'll just warm up. We'll just drink more," says Carathanasis.

Tigers fan Ian Dupont is expecting big things from the Tigers this year.

"The pitching is a question mark but the bats are there. It's going to be better then last year for sure," saus Dupont.

The Tigers are facing the New York Yankees in the season home opener. Opening pitch is 1:08pm.
