Warren Ward led all scorers with 21 points, but the Windsor Express dropped one on the road to the Halifax Hurricanes Saturday night 98-91.
The Express fall to 4-8 in the NBL Central Division and last place as a result of the loss, while the Hurricanes maintain the league's best record at 10-1.
Windsor was able to keep the game close on the road, trailing by only six points after the first quarter and then only down 53-47 at halftime. The Express outscored the Hurricanes in the third quarter but were unable to keep the momentum going down the stretch.
DeAndre Thomas added 20 points for the Express, while Nick Evans had 17 points and led Windsor with 14 rebounds, ten of them defensive.
Ta'Quan Zimmerman led the Hurricanes with 16 points and C.J. Washington tacked on 14. Defensively, Billy White led Halifax with 12 boards.
The Express now travel to Cape Breton for a Sunday afternoon game with the Highlanders.
