The votes are counted, and Windsor-Essex has the dubious honour of placing second, third, fourth and fifth in the Canadian Automobile Association's Worst Roads campaign.
While no road in Windsor-Essex made the top ten worst roads in Ontario overall, three city streets and one in Tecumseh were named in the top five worst roads in the Southwest. The Southwest region includes Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton.
Plank Rd. in Sarnia was the named the worst in that category, followed by Tecumseh Rd. in Tecumseh. Seminole St., Tecumseh Rd. E and Ouellette Ave. round out the rest of the top five.
The top three worst roads overall were Burlington St. E in Hamilton, Dufferin St. in Toronto and Lorne St. in Sudbury. Last year, Tecumseh Rd. E in Windsor placed fourth in the overall standings.
The CAA conducts the annual survey in the hope of highlighting the state of Ontario roads and encouraging municipal officials to invest more in infrastructure.
