Officials at Erie Shores Healthcare say not all heroes wear capes following the official unveiling of a new iPad bar.
Back in February, a thief made off with a total of three of the iPads in two brazen thefts. The iPads were very popular with patients and visitors in a waiting area at the hospital, which used to be known as Leamington District Memorial Hospital.
The Ontario Provincial Police arrested a suspect the next day, but the hospital was still out three iPads worth thousands of dollars.
It is with profound sadness we have to announce that last night a suspect came into the @LDMHconnect lobby and stole iPads from the lounge. pic.twitter.com/fij91l3057

"The day the news got out that the iPads had been stolen, a representative from WFCU [Windsor Family Credit Union] called offering to replace them," says Erie Shores Healthcare Foundation Executive Director Ross Barnwell.
News of the theft spread quickly on social media. A statement from the hospital says over 100,000 people shared or commented on a post on Erie Shores Healthcare's Twitter feed.
After a few months of purchasing, testing and installing the new equipment, an official unveiling took place at the hospital Wednesday.
