Scarehouse Windsor Transforms Warehouse

You've just entered a warehouse where a doctor has lost control of his experimental half human-half-animal hybrids.

That's the premise behind Scarehouse Windsor's Scared Evil Haunted House that opened Friday.

"They're running amok inside so when you're going through you're going to find the workers, you're going to find those half-human people, you're going to find little areas where they are hiding and they're going to come after you," says co-owner Shawn Lippert.

This project has been years in the making as Scarehouse Windsor has now found a home, at least for the next ten years, for the haunted house at 1441 McDougall Ave.

The 20,000 sq ft warehouse, originally built in 1911, has been transformed with lighting, animatronics, and compressors.

"We've always had a dream of having our own place to one day be able to lock the doors after October 31, and then come back and work off our successes and polish whatever we needed to have polished," says Lippert.

Lippert says they have invested in the technology and professional actors to really give people the experience they're looking for.

"We can psychologically manipulate our customers as they come through and really play with those things that we know touch them in the right way to get them all freaked out," says Lippert.

The production opens Friday September 29 and runs on select dates throughout October. There is no age restriction for the haunted house.

The website gives the following warning to parents:

"We aren't parents. We leave that up to you. We have 7-year-olds that have no problem and then have 22-year-old university girls crying. You tell us what is age appropriate? We will tell you that it will be gory, it will be disgusting and it will be scary as hell!"
