The big Windsor-Essex flood of 2017 made Environment Canada's list of top ten weather stories of the year.
The weather agency says LaSalle was the hardest hit with a total of 285 mm of rain falling in 32 hours. According to Environment Canada, this was one of the wettest moments in Easter Canadian history.
The rest of the region wasn't far behind. In less than 48 hours, 222 mm of rain fell in southwest Windsor and 140-200 mm of rain came down in Riverside and Tecumseh.
The 2017 flood insurance payouts totalled $154-million, the most expensive single-storm loss across Canada in 2017 according to Environment Canada.
Also on the list of top weather stories in the country were British Columbia`s longest wildfire season, a massive winter storm that stretched across Eastern Canada on March 13, and summer in September.
