A considerable portion of Devonshire Mall's renovation campaign is complete.
The mall unveiled its new state-of-the-art food court this week, featuring over a dozen existing and new food vendors in a new addition to the southern end of the building.
The new food court is part of the mall's ongoing $70-million renovation, which is also featuring interior improvements, new entrances, and expanded retail space. A Metro grocery store is already operational on the site of the former Zellers and Target store.
Many of the favourites in the old food court have relocated, including A&W, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell, Niko Sushi, and Feta & Olives. Other outlets such as Tim Hortons and Freshly Squeezed relocated to the new space from areas elsewhere in the mall.
Brand new to the development is the Mandarin Chinese buffet restaurant, which is located in a new building near Metro. Mandarin management says the famous buffet restaurant will be open the week of July 9. Also new in the food court are Cultures, Mucho Burrito, and Hurry Curry. Existing retailers such as Foot Locker and Shoppers Drug Mart have also moved to the development.

Additional eateries that will serve Thai cuisine and Korean barbeque will be added to the food court later in the summer.
Mall administration is hoping to begin the task of finding a new anchor store for the former Sears, an original mall anchor at the north end of the property, which closed earlier this year when Sears Canada went into bankruptcy.
Mall general manager Chris Savard told BlackburnNewsWindsor.com in April that they are waiting for Sears to resolve its outstanding real estate affairs.
