Second suspect wanted in human trafficking case turns herself in

A woman wanted in connection with a human trafficking investigation in the city has been arrested at Windsor Police Service headquarters.

Police got a complaint about a teenaged girl from London who had been brought to Windsor to work in the sex trade. Soon after her arrival, a man and a woman began controlling her movements and her money.

Police found the girl at a home on Brant Street between Louis Avenue and Marentette Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Saturday and took her to a safe place in the community.

They also arrested 43-year-old Zuhair Gorges of Windsor and charged him with human trafficking, forcible confinement, material benefit from human trafficking, and theft under $5,000.

An arrest warrant was issued for a 23-year-old Windsor woman, Breyia Latouf on similar charges.

Latouf arrived at Windsor Police Services downtown around 10 a.m. Tuesday and was arrested without incident.
