Spitfires outplay Sting 8-5

The Windsor Spitfires defeated the Sarnia Sting 8-5 on Saturday.

Daniel D'Amico kicked off the game for the Spitfires with a goal 2:35 into the first period. Ryan Roth scored on a power play for the Sting. Curtis Douglas then put the Spitfires in the lead by one.

Eric Hjorth tied up the game, scoring for the Sting 1:05 into the second period. Dylan Robinson scored a power play goal, followed by a goal from Louka Henault Windsor. The Sting's Calvin Martin scored 8:04 into the period. Thomas Stevenson and Ruben Rafkin answered back to put the Spitfires in the lead by three.

Anthony Tabak scored for the Sting 4:12 into the period. Egor Afanasyev scored for Windsor. Ryan Roth answered back with a goal for the Sting, followed closely by a goal from Tyle Angle for the Spitfires to end the game at 8-5.

Spitfires' goalie Kari Piiroinen saved 27 out of 32 shots on net. Stings' goalie  Ethan Langevin saved shots 22 out of 29 shots on net.

The Sting will be facing off against the Barrie Colts at the Colts Centre on Thursday. Pucks drops at 7:30 p.m.
