One local community has declared a partial state-of-emergency in response to a gasoline leak over the weekend.
Kingsville has begun a partial activation of its emergency operations centre after a leak was reported near a gas station at County Road 20 and County Road 23 on Sunday.
"As a result of the operational review with local and neighbouring responders, a localized state of emergency has been declared as a preventative safety measure in support of the management and actions necessary in support of the liquefied petroleum spill at 1958 County Road 20 West," read a statement on the town's official website.

The OPP had evacuated homes within the area and had asked that anyone within 500 metres of the intersection to leave and not return until updated by emergency service personnel.
Mayor Nelson Santos reiterated that safety is the chief concern.
"While this emergency response area encompasses areas in both Kingsville and Essex, the effort to protect residents and property is not limited in the scope of our emergency responders. Collectively, taking actions necessary to protect this area, our municipal control group is in enhanced monitoring mode under the Emergency Operations Centre," said Santos. "The safety of the public is our top priority and emergency services personnel are working around the clock to bring this urgent situation to a swift resolution."
In addition to Kingsville Fire and Rescue, personnel from the OPP, and the hazmat team from Windsor Fire and Rescue have been on scene. Drivers are asked to find an alternate route until further notice.
