A cohort of 22 students at St. Joseph's Catholic High School in Windsor was sent home Monday because of high-risk exposure to COVID-19.
The Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board is working closely with the Windsor Essex County Health Unit to identify staff and students who may be affected. The health unit is contacting all individuals directly and will give further directions.
If parents have not been notified directly by the health unit, their child has not been identified as a close contact and they may attend school as usual.
Parents are advised to continue to monitor their child for symptoms of COVID-19 including fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.
Over the last week, there have been several cases identified at local schools however there have been no outbreaks identified. There have been two cases identified at Roseland Public School and one case each at St. Anne French Immersion Catholic Elementary School, Christ the King French Immersion Catholic Elementary School, St. Peter Catholic Elementary School, and St. Louis Catholic Elementary School. A case has also been identified at École catholique Ste-Marguerite-d’Youville with Csc Providence.
