Niagara police increase reward to help solve Windsor woman's murder

The Niagara Regional Police Service is hoping to identify two people who were there the night Windsor woman Juliana Pannunzio was murdered in Fort Erie.

On January 19, officers were called shortly after 4 a.m. to a home in Fort Erie, just south of Niagara Falls, for a disturbance involving gunshots. When police arrived, they found Pannunzio, 20, and 18-year-old Christine Cooks from Toronto both deceased.

Niagara police say the investigation has revealed that a group of people from outside the Niagara region rented the home for a planned gathering. All the other people who were at the party took off before the police arrived to find the victims.

"Investigators have identified most of the people at the party that night. Some of them have been spoken to and provided valuable information. However, others simply refuse to cooperate," said Staff Sergeant Steve Magistrale with the NRPS Major Crime Unit.

Police are now asking for the public's help to identify two people seen in a photo taken from inside the residence.

The police service has increased the $50,000 reward to $100,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for these murders.
