It may not be as much as 2020's phenomenal result, but the organizers of the June 27th Miracle in Windsor-Essex are pleased with the haul from this year’s donation drive.
It collected 1,032,199 pounds, a very healthy showing in the event’s second year.
In 2020, it collected over 2-million pounds.

Already, organizer Matt Hernandez said much of the food is out to the more than 50 organizations that signed up before the drive.
"The food got sorted and delivered in record time," he said. "We had almost half of the organizations be completely stocked within the first few days, and the rest of them were stocked just a couple days after that."
Still, the organizing committee is getting calls from organizations. Hernandez said it is not too late for them to get donations distributed.
"This is who we did this for," he said emphasizing, this year organizers wanted to ensure people are supported all year long. "Now we're connecting them with one of these 50 different organizations as well, so that they can make the real that strong connection in the community, so they can actually benefit for the long-term."
Hopefully, this time next year, the pandemic will be a memory, so will there be a Miracle in 2022?
"I would just say to everybody just keep your eyes out to see if you see any blue June 27th Miracle or Miracle signs next June," said Hernandez. "That will be your answer."
