While there may be some stability in the daily case count, Windsor-Essex's active COVID-19 caseload continues to rise.
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit reported 85 new cases of the virus Tuesday morning. The Tuesday total brings the active case count above the 500 mark, to 533.
Among Tuesday's cases, 32 of them were through close contact with another positive person, 16 were acquired through the community, three were related to outbreaks, and one was connected to travel. The remaining 33 are still being investigated.
There were no new deaths Tuesday, so the death toll in Windsor-Essex stays at 471.
There are 21 patients currently in hospital.
A total of 28 places are under an outbreak protocol as of Tuesday morning, including ten workplaces, nine community settings, seven schools, and two long-term care facilities.
For vaccinations, the health unit reported that 80.9 per cent of residents five and older had received at least a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. The number is 76.9 per cent for full vaccination.
