Suspect charged after multiple Leamington break-and-enters

Ontario Provincial Police have arrested a suspect after three homes were broken into in Leamington this week.

The first occurred on Tuesday at a residence near Erie Street and Talbot Street in the downtown core. An electric scooter was among the items taken, according to OPP Constable Steven Duguay.

Two additional break-ins took place on Wednesday, with the first at a dwelling on Wigle Street off Oak Street East, and the second near the intersection of Oak Street and Erie Street South. Clothes and jewelry were among the items taken from both homes.

Following an investigation, police arrested a 31-year-old Leamington woman. She has been charged with two counts of break-and-enter to commit an offence and two counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000. The suspect is also charged with break-and-enter with intent to commit an offence, opioid possession other than heroin, theft under $5,000, mischief under $5,000, possession of break-in instruments, and failure to comply with a release order.

The charges have not been proven in court. The suspect was held for a bail hearing Friday in Windsor.
