City schedules second Ojibway park meeting for Wednesday

Residents are once again invited to an information session on the proposed Ojibway National Urban Park.

The City of Windsor is hosting a public drop-in session on Wednesday afternoon to provide people with the latest information on the planned urban park, plus gather feedback from residents. The session is being planned in partnership with Parks Canada and others.

This session is a follow-up to one held last month and is welcome to anyone with additional feedback to share and those who missed the first session.

Parks Canada began a new initiative last year to create a series of National Urban Parks across the country, to allow residents to access natural areas in urban regions. A bill, C-248, now working its way through Parliament and set for a full vote in the new year, would create the Ojibway National Urban Park.

The drop-in session will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the John Muir Branch Library on Mill Street.

Residents are also encouraged to provide feedback online through the City of Windsor's official website.
