UPDATE: Lakeshore boil water advisory lifted

The boil advisory in Lakeshore has ended.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Monday, the municipality issued a notice saying the boil water advisory had been lifted. The advisory was put into effect on Friday after a watermain break in the Stoney Point area. Around 550 properties were impacted.

Affected properties will receive a hand-delivered notice on Tuesday announcing the advisory being lifted.

“We appreciate everyone’s patience throughout the boil water advisory,” said Krystal Kalbol, Lakeshore’s corporate leader – operations.  “We’d also like to thank all of our dedicated staff who responded to the watermain break and ensured residents were notified."

At 6:52 p.m. on December 23, the municipality reported that a watermain break had been repaired, but the boil water advisory would remain in effect until further notice.

Water samples were taken for labratory testing on December 24 and 25. Results were sent to the local health unit, which holds the authority to lift the boil water advisory.

The advisory effected "the area north of Lakeshore Road 301, east of Tremblay Beach Conservation Area, and west of the Thames River. This area includes Lighthouse Cove, Crystal Beach, Laforet Beach, and Couture Beach," the notice said.
