Windsor man wanted for Kitchener shooting

The Waterloo Regional Police Service's Major Crimes Unit has an Ontario-wide warrant out for the arrest of a Windsor man in connection to a shooting in Kitchener.

Just before 7 a.m. on September 22, officers were called to the Centreville area of Kitchener after the shooting.

Officers found a 65-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound who was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police believe the shooter targeted the victim.

Earlier this week, investigators identified a suspect, 39-year-old Michael Allard.

Allard is believed to live in Windsor and is considered armed and dangerous. If you see him, police recommend calling 911 immediately.

Allard has a history with Windsor Police.

In April 2019, police advised residents to meet in public with anyone they arranged an online sale with after a man was assaulted during an incident on Capitol Street. Police visited the home, but the suspect refused to leave his house leading to a six-hour standoff.

Following the arrest, police found a prohibited weapon.

The following September, officers charged Allard with 16 counts of possessing someone else's identity documents, 11 counts of possession of stolen property, fraud under $5,000, and use of credit card data without authorization.

In March 2021, police searched a homes on Capitol Street and Turner Road and found a laundry list of narcotics. Following that, Allard faced possession for the purpose of trafficking offences.
