Windsor police investigate separate downtown shooting, stabbing

It was a busy overnight shift for Windsor officers, as police responded to a downtown shooting and stabbing within the same hour early Saturday morning.

The stabbing happened around 1 a.m. at Festival Plaza, located at 370 Riverside Drive East. Police said a man was stabbed twice - once in the elbow and once in the thigh. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police have yet to say whether charges have been laid in relation to this incident.

Less than an hour later, just before 2 a.m., officers responded to the area of Oullette Avenue and Wyandotte Street East for reports of gunshots.

A 20-year-old man was discovered at the scene with a bullet wound to his foot. He was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly after, police say a suspect vehicle was stopped in the area of Oullette Avenue and Erie Street, two blocks south of the scene of the incident. At this time, three suspects were reportedly taken into custody.

A fourth suspect has yet to be located. Police describe the individual as a Black man between 20 and 25-years-old. He is about 6' tall with a thin build. He was wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans at the time of the incident.
