You might get a request to donate soon to support transportation programs at the Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
The annual Face to Face Campaign starts on Tuesday.
Joined by Honourary Co-Chairs Len Solcz, Jamie Henderson, and Doctor Gary Ing, Founder John Fairley kicked off the campaign on Monday.
The campaign has raised $1.5-million over the past two decades for the Fairley Family Transportation Program, which provides a ride to medical appointments for clients at the hospice.
"The Fairley Family Transportation Program is such an important part of the wrap-around service that hospice provides," said Executive Director Nancy Brockenshire.
Last year, the G.E.N.I.E program launched, giving rides to hospice clients who want to attend a family gathering, visit a local park, or visit their family home one last time.
G.E.N.I.E stands for Granting Exceptional N' Impactful Experiences.
"It has been wonderful to hear about the impact of the G.E.N.I.E program, and we look forward to supporting even more memorable moments through this year's Face to Face Campaign," added Fairley.
Canvassers will collect donations in-person and online again this year, and the community can show support by pledging a specific canvasser.
The campaign wraps up on September 30.
