Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) has launched the next stage of finding an operator for the casino complex in Windsor.
The OLG announced Tuesday morning that it had released Request for Proposal (RFP) documents for those who have expressed interest in bidding on the gaming and entertainment complex currently known as Caesars Windsor.
"The RFP will enable OLG to select a highly qualified service provider to handle day-to-day operations while ensuring the long-term competitiveness of the site so it can continue generating economic benefits for the local community and Ontario," read a release from OLG.
Potential suitors were asked in April to submit their interest in bidding for the property. The first phase of the procurement process closed in late May. Caesars Entertainment, the current operator, did have the option of re-bidding.
The contract with Caesars has already been extended until August 2025. OLG has the option to further extend the term for another six to 12 months.
The OLG is not releasing details on the RFP documents themselves or the bidders moving on in the process, citing its sensitive nature. There will be no additional comment from the OLG until a service provider is named.
