Spitfires' goalie coach resigns

The Windsor Spitfires' coaching team is down another person after the goalie coach resigned Wednesday evening.

The organization announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Michael Leighton tendered his resignation.

On Monday, the team announced it had fired head coach Jerrod Smith.

By Wednesday morning, assistant coach Andy Delmore tendered his resignation to the organization and Leighton followed suit late in the afternoon.

Casey Torres will fill the role of interim head coach as the team takes on Peterborough Thursday night.

Windsor is currently in last place in the OHL's West Division, with nine points and a 4-16-1 record.
