Lakeshore seeks feedback on its new budget app

Now that the Municipality of Lakeshore has passed its budget for 2024, it wants to know what residents thought of the process.

It's looking for feedback on how to improve the process and the new interactive Budget app.

The budget received its final stamp of approval a week ago with a 2.97 per cent increase in the municipal levy, the lowest in the region.

The increase will add another $54 to the average property tax bill.

To improve transparency, the municipality used a new interactive digital app to present the draft and final budget.

"We modernized our budget presentation this year, and we'd like to know what residents think and how it can be improved in 2025 and beyond," said Chief Financial Officer Justin Rousseau. "Feedback from stakeholders is a critical part of our ongoing efforts to improve Lakeshore's services, and we appreciate everyone who takes the time to respond."

A short online survey asks respondents to share their experience with the app and the council's deliberations.

The Budget Feedback Survey is open until this fall.
