Catherine, Princess of Wales, diagnosed with cancer

Princess Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, has revealed that she has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy.

The announcement came after she underwent major abdominal surgery earlier this year, during which the cancer was discovered.

The 42-year-old princess shared in a video message that the news came as a huge shock, and she and Prince William have been processing and managing it privately for the sake of their young family. Kate emphasized the importance of taking time to recover from surgery before starting "preventative chemotherapy."

The specific type of cancer has not been disclosed, and Kate began chemotherapy in late February following her surgery in mid-January. She recorded the emotional video at Windsor on Wednesday, choosing to share the news after informing her children Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5.

King Charles, her father-in-law, is also undergoing cancer treatment, adding another layer of difficulty for the royal family. However, both Kate and King Charles have received immense support and praise for their courage in facing their respective health challenges.

The news of Kate's diagnosis has sparked an outpouring of support and messages of solidarity from around the world. As she focuses on her treatment and recovery, Kate has requested privacy for her family during this challenging time.
