Transit Windsor expands tunnel bus offerings for Opening Day

Detroit Tigers fans across Windsor-Essex will have more options to see their team open the home season on Friday.

Transit Windsor's tunnel bus service will offer an expanded schedule for Opening Day, with service from downtown Windsor to the dedicated Comerica Park bus stop at Cass Avenue and West Fisher Service Drive.

Buses to Comerica Park will leave the downtown bus terminal at 10 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m.

For those wanting to head back to Windsor immediately after the game, buses will leave the Comerica Park tunnel bus stop at 4:41 p.m., 5:11 p.m., 5:41 p.m., and 6:11 p.m.

The cost is $10 one-way, Canadian or U.S. funds, and no reservations are required. The exact fare is accepted on the bus, but the driver can't make change, and overpayments will not be reimbursed.

Tigers fans are encouraged to avoid long lines by purchasing a tunnel smart ride card at the bus terminal.

If you want to stay in Detroit late following the game, the last tunnel bus will leave Old Mariner's Church at 9:41 p.m.

The Tigers will open their 2024 home season against the Oakland Athletics, with a first pitch scheduled for 1:10 p.m.

This will be the last regular-season series the A's will play in Detroit while identifying as from Oakland. The A's announced Thursday that the 2024 season will be their last in the Bay Area. They will play at a minor league park in Sacramento for at least three seasons until their permanent stadium in Las Vegas is ready.
