Body of missing swimmer found in Leamington

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have confirmed that the body of a swimmer missing since Sunday evening has been found.

Police say the swimmer entered the water near the Leamington docks shortly before 7 p.m., began to struggle, and did not resurface.

Few details have been released, but the OPP say an eyewitness spotted a body floating in the water and called 911.

The body of the 32-year-old Leamington man was taken for a post-mortem at Windsor Regional Hospital. The person has not been publicly identified.

The Canadian Coast Guard, Leamington Fire Services, Essex-Windsor Emergency Medical Services, and a civilian marine tow service assisted the OPP in the search.
