Two arrested after Windsor police seize weapons, stolen motorcycles

Windsor police have arrested two men and recovered weapons and stolen motorcycles in a raid last week.

Members of the Drugs and Guns Enforcement (DIGS) Unit executed a warrant Thursday morning at a home on Ottawa Street, where information was learned about possible illegal firearms.

Two men were arrested in the operation.

Officers, along with Police Service Dog Rolex, searched the house and found a .40 calibre handgun with serial numbers defaced, a 12-gauge sawed-off shotgun, a .308 calibre rifle broken in half, various kinds of ammunition, and six replica firearms.

Police also recovered three stolen motorcycles.

A 50-year-old and 40-year-old man are each charged with two counts of possession of a restricted or prohibited weapon, altering a serial number on a firearm, three counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000, nine counts of breach of a weapons prohibition order, and failure to comply with a release order.

The 50-year-old is also charged with breach of a probation order.

The 40-year-old was also arrested on an outstanding warrant for mischief under $5,000.

The charges have not been proven in court.
