Lynette Bain has been hired as the new executive director of the Windsor/Essex County Humane Society.
Bain has been with Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island for the past 13 years. She starts her new role on November 11, 2024.
"What I want to do coming in is really be someone who can help build community partnerships, listen to our amazing, passionate community who are really caring about animal welfare and help to ensure our organization is sustainable," said Bain.
Bain said animals have always been an important part of her life. She currently has three dogs, a cat and eight horses.
"Animals have always been at the forefront of my everyday life and I'm really thrilled, who else gets the opportunity to build that into their professional life as well and really have the opportunity to make that impact," said Bain.
She takes over the role from long-time executive director Melanie Coulter who was let go in July.
