Windsor police have again made it clear that cell phone use while driving is not only dangerous but also illegal.
Patrol officers conducted an enforcement blitz Wednesday in various city areas, issuing 63 citations for various offences, including using the phone while driving.
Police have reminded drivers that using the phone while stopped is not an excuse.
"Using a cell phone while driving, even if you’re stopped at a light, carries a fine of up to $615," read a tweet from Windsor police. "Likewise, driving with any obstructions, including pets, can earn you a fine of up to $110."
Citations were also issued Wednesday for driving while crowded, driving while suspended, and other offences.
