The provincial government is providing $3.6 million in funding to help boost local manufacturing.
The grants and loans were made through the Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF).
Bear Performance Inc. is purchasing $3.7 million of new equipment to increase automation in its production processes and boost productivity. The expansion will create 5 new jobs. The SWODF is pitching in $500,000 to the project.
Crest Mold Technologies is investing $8.7 million in its facilities in Oldcastle to expand operations. The work will bring additional manufacturing capabilities in-house and create 10 new jobs. The company received a $1.3 million grant from the SWODF.
Select Tool Inc is expanding its 26,000 sq. ft. facility and adding new equipment with a $2.5 million investment. The company will get a $375,000 loan through the SWODF. The expansion is expected to create 14 new jobs.
"This investments keeps these companies at the forefront of technology, they invest and then we support their investment and it makes them at the top of their game," said MPP Andrew Dowie.
The final local recipient for the latest round of funding through the SWODF is the City of Windsor. It's completing $4.8 million of work to service land for the NextStar Energy EV Battery Plant and adjacent municipal infrastructure areas. The SWODF is contributing $1.5 million to the $4.8 million project.
