Victim comes forward in Lakeshore historical sex abuse case

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a second victim has come forward in an ongoing investigation that has resulted in the arrest of a Lakeshore man.

David Grainger, 79, was first arrested on July 9, on charges of sexual interference, invitation to sexual touching, and sexual assault.

Police say a second victim contacted them on November 5. The ensuing investigation has led to additional counts of those three charges.

The charges have not been proven in court. Grainger was released from custody and will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court on December 18.

The OPP started investigating in June after receiving a report about sexual assaults that took place between 2003 and 2010.

Police believe there may be more victims.

Anyone with information should call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Anonymous tips may be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

"Victims of sexual assault are not alone," read a release from the OPP. "If you or someone you know needs support, there are local resources available to help. One organization you can contact is Victim Services of Windsor and Essex County at (519) 723-2711."
