Downtown Detroit is expected to be the place to be on Thursday morning, American Thanksgiving Day.
If you are planning to head to Detroit, there will be some road closures and detours in place, as America's Thanksgiving Parade will head down Woodward Avenue.
The area will also be full of football fans as the Detroit Lions will host the Chicago Bears at Ford Field in their traditional Thanksgiving Day game.
The Parade Company will put on the 98th edition of the march. The parade will step off at 8:45 a.m. from Woodward Avenue and Kirby, in the University Cultural Center. It will head south and finish at Woodward and Congress.
The City of Detroit has provided a list of street closures that will be in place before and during the parade.
The Detroit People Mover, operating again after a lengthy shutdown for maintenance, will run with free fares until 7 p.m. Thursday. The closest stations to the parade route are Cadillac Square, Broadway, and Grand Circus Park.
WDIV Local 4 will broadcast the parade live, including a one-hour national feed.
Football fans are encouraged to arrive early for the Lions game. Gates at Ford Field will open at 10 a.m., with a 12:30 p.m. kickoff.
Commuters heading into Detroit from Windsor may face longer-than-usual wait times at the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.
