There's a chill in the air, and outdoor skating is back in the City of Windsor.
The City's Recreation Department has announced the operating hours for outdoor skating for the 2024-2025 season, which kicked off on Sunday. Lanspeary Lions Outdoor Rink is set to go to host skaters.
Regular hours of operation, weather permitting, are weekdays from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Public skating hours, for leisure skating only, are from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays, and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Sticks, pucks, and skate aids are not allowed during public skating.
Parent and tot skating, for kids five and under, is from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays. Skate aids are welcome but are not provided.
Adult skating, for those 18 and older, is on Tuesdays from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Additional hours are in place for the winter holiday break, between December 26, 2024, and January 5, 2025. Extended hours will also be offered for PA Days and Family Day, which is February 19, 2025.
