Lost, but not forgotten at candle light service

More than a thousand people are expected Tuesday night at a vigil to remember loved ones who have passed over the last year.

Funeral homes owned by Arbor Memorial are hosting it at the Ciociaro Club. The doors open at 6 p.m., and an hour-long service will start an hour later.

A release read, "The one-hour service will feature music, readings, candle lighting, and a special message of hope and healing to acknowledge that someone significant is not here to celebrate the holiday season with us. "

The holiday season can be a challenging time for those who are bereaved.

The ceremony is by invitation only.

On Wednesday evening, Erie Shores Healthcare is hosting another event to remember loved ones who have died this year.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., the annual tradition is outside the hospital's main entrance on Fader Street.

"This ceremony is a beautiful way for our community to come together in remembrance, connection, and hope," said hospital president and CEO Kristin Kennedy.

The evening will feature a moving candle-lighting, tree-lighting ceremony, and reflections.

Guests can bring a light to honour their loved ones, and donations will help support the hospital's Spiritual Care Committee's services.
