Two fire fatalities in two days

A man has died following a fire at an apartment on Ouellette Avenue.

This is the second fatal fire in the city in two days.

Windsor Fire and Rescue crews responded to the blaze on the 16th floor of 920 Ouellette on Sunday.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall was notified and concluded the investigation. The cause and damage estimate has not been released.

Officials with Windsor Fire and Rescue Services say the exact cause of death is unknown.

On Monday, a 71-year-old woman died after a fire on Sandwich Street. This fire caused around $250,000 in damage.

Fire officials say the smoke alarm outside the home's sleeping area was not working at the time of the blaze.

Youth Arrested for Fake Bomb Threat

Chatham-Kent police said an anonymous 9-1-1 call came in on Wednesday night just before 9 p.m. reporting that there was a bomb in one of the rail cars.
