Student artists recognized in Essex County

Artwork done by students across Essex County will be on display in a unique way.

Chris Lewis, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Essex, is using the art for a community calendar.

Ten of the 12 students whose art was chosen visited Lewis’ Constituency Office on Sunday where they were given a recognition certificate and parliamentary-themed gift.

“My office has received many compliments, from members of the community, on the talent of the artists and the creativity of the featured pictures. I was thrilled with the participation in the contest and encourage the students to continue using their God-given talents to bless and encourage others,” said Lewis.

Each of the pieces of art, created using the theme “Things I like to Do,” are also on display at Lewis’ office.

This is the first calendar of what Lewis plans to make an annual tradition.
