Impaired driving charges follow Hwy. 401 crash

The Ontario Provincial Police has charged a 57-year-old Windsor man with impaired driving after a crash on Hwy. 401 earlier this month.

The OPP responded to the single-vehicle crash in the westbound lanes of the highway in Lakeshore just before 1:30 p.m. on February 2.

No one was hurt.

The driver was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired by drugs or alcohol and operation of a motor vehicle while over the legal blood alcohol concentration limit.

The man will also lose his license to drive for 90 days while his vehicle is impounded for a week.

He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on Tuesday.
