A 57-year-old who has been on the run from Windsor police for two years was arrested in British Columbia last week.
The man was first arrested by Windsor police on multiple drug trafficking charges in April 2021.
He was released on bail and then arrested on additional drug trafficking charges in later in the year.
On the two occasions, police seized crystal methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine from the suspect.
The man was released on bail again with the condition of wearing an electronic monitoring device. The device was removed in August 2023 and he went into hiding.
The Windsor police bail compliance officers tracked the man to Kelowna, British Columbia. With help from the OPP-led Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement (ROPE) Squad, the RCMP Kelowna High-Risk Offender Unit, the British Columbia Sheriff Department, and the British Columbia Fugitive Return Program, the offender was taken into custody.
The accused was returned to Windsor to face five counts of failing to comply with a release order in addition to his original drug offences.
