About 30 part-time facility staff with the Municipality of Lakeshore have a new collective agreement.
They're members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 636, and the agreement is in effect until the end of 2027.
"Frontline staff are critical to the work that we do. These team members ensure our facilities are safe and inviting for residents and visitors, and we appreciate their hard work every day," said Mayor Tracey Bailey.
Highlights of the new agreement include a modest wage increase in 2026 and 2027, with economic and market adjustments this year. It also includes more flexible scheduling, a minimum number of hours of work per two-week period, and shift premiums for those who work after 6 p.m.
"On behalf of the members of IBEW Local 636, we are pleased with the ratification vote and look forward to continuing to provide the community and citizens with the very best services throughout the year," said the IBEW Local 636 negotiations committee.
