Leamington offering free March Break transit for Grade 8 students

The Municipality of Leamington is again offering a program to show young adults the benefits of public transit.

The LT-Go Grade 8 Program will be in place for a third consecutive March Break.

All grade 8 students in Leamington have been given a free unlimited ride pass to the LT-Go system, good through Sunday, March 16.

Mayor Hilda MacDonald said the program prepares students for the freedom and responsibility of navigating their community.

"The LT-Go Grade 8 program is about more than just free rides, it’s about empowering our young residents with independence and confidence in using public transit," said MacDonald. "By familiarizing them with the system now, we’re helping to prepare them for the future, whether that means commuting to work, attending post-secondary education, or travelling within new communities."

The Municipality worked with all the public school boards to distribute the passes last week.
