Amherstburg man collects almost $106K playing Lotto 6/49

An Amherstburg man is celebrating a lottery win after being a regular player his entire adult life.

Retiree Pasquale Mazzei won the second prize in the March 19 Lotto 6/49 draw, for an amount of $105,904.20.

Mazzei recently picked up his prize cheque at the OLG's Prize Centre in Toronto.

"In the morning, after finishing my coffee, I checked my tickets using the OLG app on my phone," said Mazzei. "When I saw the numbers I’d matched, I was frozen with shock, but still managed to scan my ticket and confirm my win."

The father of two also regularly plays Lotto MAX and Lottario each week.

The winning ticket was purchased at a Shoppers Drug Mart in Amherstburg.

Mazzei plans to pay off bills, share his winnings with family, and save for retirement.
