Tilbury Senior Fair returns

Local seniors will be celebrated and learn what services are available to them in Chatham-Kent during the 2025 Tilbury Senior Fair.

The fair will be at the Tilbury Arena on May 8, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

CK councillor Marjorie Crew said that the fair keeps getting bigger and that this year it will take place inside the arena.

"Usually we're in the hall, attached, but we've outgrown that," she said. "We have 57 tables of information for people who want to come and gather information about all the services and quality of life assistance in our community that's there for seniors and their families and their caregivers."

Crew explained that the municipality's senior population can find information about anything from dentures to hearing aids to how to downsize their home.

"Maybe you want to talk about your wills and power of attorney and those important things that we need to get done," she added, noting that advice on legal assistance will be available.

Crew said that often times people don't think about the things they'll need later in life, until it's a problem. She added that the fair is a great way to get ahead of any future issues.

There will also be a free lunch and a seniors workout.

"We're going to have the VON ladies help get everybody moving, learn some chair exercises to help us maintain our mobility as we age." Crew explained.

The Tilbury Senior Fair is free of charge and no registration is necessary. "Come on out," Crew said. "You'll be welcomed with open arms."
