Lakeshore seeks input on skate parks

Lakeshore calls on all skaters, bikers, and bladers to fill out a new online survey to help improve the skate park at Belle River's Optimist Park and other skating facilities across the municipality.

The survey on Lakeshore's municipal website is open until May 16 and asks residents how they use the skate parks and what they'd like to see in the future.

"Feedback from users is incredibly valuable," said Mayor Tracey Bailey. "It helps ensure the investments and improvements we make reflect the experience and desires of those who use these amenities."

Lakeshore's council approved $300,000 in the budget this year to renovate the skate park at Optimist Park in Belle River.

The current skate park has reached the end of its useful life after 20 years. Updates include a skate-friendly textured concrete pad, a designated sitting area, and other enhancements.

If you need help filling out the survey, call the Public Service Unit at 519-728-2700 Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
