OPP arrest two suspected impaired drivers in Lakeshore

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were still busy dealing with alleged impaired drivers in Essex County.

The first was on Thursday morning. At about 6 a.m., officers responded to a traffic complaint on County Road 8 in Lakeshore.

A 26-year-old from Leamington was arrested and charged with impaired driving, driving with excessive blood-alcohol concentration, and dangerous driving.

The second was on Thursday night. Officers stopped a vehicle on a traffic complaint on County Road 22 in Lakeshore shortly before 10:30 p.m.

A 29-year-old from Belle River is charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, and failure to comply with an order.

Both drivers have had their licences suspended for 90 days, and their vehicles impounded for seven days.

The charges have not been proven in court. Both drivers will have a chance to respond at a Windsor court in mid-May.
